I adjusted shadows and highlights in levels adjustments to increase the contrast. I lightened your hubby's face, then adjusted the hue of his face to reduce the red tones. Finally, I removed the noise and sharpened. I would also crop it much closer to your family so that they are a little larger. I think it is a great picture for you christmas cards!! You might also try brightening up the faces just a little, you would need to experiment though, because you don't want to do it too much.Pitterle Postingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02944899733768126383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300670821951983903.post-7712764647966801902010-10-08T13:53:12.423-07:002010-10-08T13:53:12.423-07:00Love this family shot and commend you for getting ...Love this family shot and commend you for getting your kids to do 15 shots! :o)

You can see my edit here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54673825@N03/?saved=1

The shot was a bit too centered for me (I've had Rule-of-Thirds pounded into my brain) so I cropped in a little, which also brings the family to the front a little more and puts the beach in the background where it belongs.

Daddy's face was too shadowed so I did a brightened his face up a couple times. In doing this (even though I erased the brightening from everything but his face) I lost some of the color in the sky so I added a blue texture and erased it from all but the sky.

Ran a define & sharpen at 35% then ran a Blueberry Glaze action at 40%.Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04278452865282457359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300670821951983903.post-55904620530418246492010-10-08T11:59:33.543-07:002010-10-08T11:59:33.543-07:00Great shot! I started editing this picture and myself had an extremely hard time lightening it up enough to get your eyes to not be so dark (especially your husbands). So I turned it black and white for fun. I also did a couple of things like made all of you straighter since the image has you all leaning a little bit to the right. I put a blur around the beach to make ya'll the focus. Thanks for letting me have fun editing your picture!
Here's the image URL:
http://www.autumncutaia.com/images/family.jpgAutumn Cutaiahttp://www.autumncutaia.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300670821951983903.post-85074376523717237942010-10-08T10:50:00.718-07:002010-10-08T10:50:00.718-07:00i NEVER do anything like this . . . So, you're one of those people that sends the Beach Christmas Cards and maked everyone jealous, ha ha!

I have never used photoshop, (still hoping to sit down one day and learn). I think its great, the only thing I saw was that hubs face is a little dark (in a shadow, maybe), anyway to lighten. If not, I 'd say it looks good. Or maybe if the sky was lightened. But, upon first glance, it looked great to me.
