Super easy Anthro ispired watch tutorial

What you need:
Scraps of fabric ( you don't need a whole lot, mine were 2 5"x12". I used my favorite moda vintage looking scraps)
An old watch( if you want to tell the time It needs to work:) )
2 jump rings ( if our watch is like mine and only had holes for the band) You can get these at Wal-Mart if you dont already have them

Start by disassembling your watch, add a jump ring at the top and bottom
Now rip your fabric, you need 3 pieces all the same length. There is no rules for this, just make sure it will fit around your wrist, if its too long that's OK, you can cut it later.
Weave 1 piece through the jump rings, making sure it goes UNDER the face of the watch.
Tie another piece of fabric just under the face, and braid until you have just a small amount of your added fabric left.
Tie your 2 ends. TIGHT. Then cut of extra fabric of the added fabric, you should have a tail, of your long one that is the main piece.( does this make sense?)

Repeat on opposite side. If your tail is too long you can trim that now. Just snip a small part and rip the rest for a nice frayed look.
Tie your ends together and your done!

I am trying to make this, but am having a hard time understanding the instructions. I braid one side, but then have only 1 strip left on the other. What am I doing wrong. Please help. You may email me at presleysmom07@yahoo.com

  6. This is a great tutorial, but it is incredibly frustrating to be sitting here listening to a podcast on my own iTunes while browsing craft blogs and suddenly have music screaming out of my speakers just because I clicked a link to a freakin' watch tutorial.

    Classy.
